Fynbos in Perth

My fynbos is in full bloom! It's stunning!

The rest of the garden is also looking lovely, this is such a pretty time of year, when things actually grow, and you don't have to empty the water reserves to keep them growing.

Succulents and upcycling

A few weeks ago CS has an upcycling market at school. Each class had different projects that they had and she had the decorated jars, and photo frames.  She bought herself a set of covered tins. When looking at them, I wondered what we were going to do with them, but at the same time I didn't want them to add to the clutter. Then I had an epiphany when I was scrolling through Pinterest.  So this afternoon we planted succulents into the quaint tins. I'm hoping this will encourage her to take responsibility for something living and take pride in a project.

I also want her to learn a little about propagation and see how she can grow new plants from cuttings of existing ones.  The other good thing is her window is perfect for plants to thrive, it's warm and bright, and I think when it gets to summer we will just need to move them a little.
