Saturday 07-07-2007 was a happy day for Nicole and Dale. I was lucky enough to be the photographer for their wedding and it was a blast.
I was nervous about a week before the wedding, but on the day I was just excited for them and couldn’t wait to see Nicole all dolled up! And boy oh boy was she looking lovely. Some people who have seen a few pictures say that they didn’t even recognize her.
Paul and I got there just before 14:00 to start with some pictures at her parents home, and it was fun to watch them getting ready. Then we scooted off to the church to get ready, and get some pictures there of Dale, looking very nervous. I was getting worried that Dale would be late and not Nicole, but he got there first.
After rushing to grab some pictures of Nicole getting out of the car, it was all systems go from there. The ceremony was lovely, and the minister spoke well. It was nerve wracking thinking that I might miss something, but I think I managed to get almost everything. There are things that are different at all weddings and it makes for a much more exciting day.
The group shots went quickly and easily, and I almost felt like I was just running a production line, but then it was off to the gardens at Steinbank Nature Reserve for the photo’s. The light, although difficult was stunning, and I think God for giving me that light to make the pictures I was able to capture even more beautiful. We had to work quickly and managed to get enough pictures to hopefully make Nicole a happy customer.
I enjoyed the experience, and I think that I could really do this more often. Now just to find some more people getting married so that I can get into it more.
